when the new year arrived, i was dancing in the snow with my best friend. since then i've been with friends non-stop. some things were bad and some were good in 2011, but we choose only to remember the good things. it's all about looking ahead of you.

2011 has been a whirlwind. i don't know how to explain it, other than it was the year that everything happened. things i never in my wildest dreams thought would happen, both good and bad. i failed, learned and succeeded. my friends cried in my arms and i cried in theirs. i met people who changed my view on something, and i've developed myself in many ways. i travelled and took pictures. i laughed until i couldn't breathe, stayed up all night, went to concerts and even a huge movie premiere in london. heck, i even got two front page photos and saw emma watson in person. i have no idea what this year will bring, but i know i'll do my best to make it amazing.

so cross your fingers and bite your lips - i know 2012 will be a good one, too. happy new year!

throughout the days of christmas, i was in the mountains with my father's side of the family. it was calm, and each day was spent eating, talking, watching tv and doing nothing. i got the loveliest presents and there almost hasn't been a minute i haven't been smiling. except last night, when the storm cut the power and i had to use a flashlight to find my way to the bedroom.

i got back earlier today and tonight i went to the movies with a friend. life's not too bad. at all.

everything that has to do with school is officially finished for this year, so we decided to celebrate by going to the cinema and watch the girl with the dragon tattoo. my expectations were pretty high (i mean, david fincher) even though i thought it could never surpass the original. turns out the movie was fantastic in every way!

tomorrow i'm heading to the mountains to spend christmas with my family. it'll be good to see my cousin, catch up with the rest, and just breathe for some time. hope all of you will have a lovely christmas as well!

i returned home from a couple of days at my dad's house in the mountains yesterday. it was good to escape for a while again and do absolutely nothing. it was even snowing when i got there. seeing it's december and there's no snow where i live, it really put a smile on my face. the day before leaving to his house, some friends and i devoted an entire night to guitar playing and crême brulèe eating (so so good).

the pictures are nothing exciting, but truth to be told i haven't taken many lately. i'm living my life and forgetting to snap and post as much as i'd like to. if you want to, though, you can stalk me on twitter. anyway, take care.

where did the past month go? i almost have no time to clear my head. soon it's december and it seems unreal. so much has happened over the past months and at the same time it feels like they've just been blown away. it's kind of freaking me out. anyway, on sunday my deeply loved friends and i sought shelter from the wind and drank cocoa and watched bad movies. all sundays should be like that.

as a nice way of ending this post, i tell you all to listen to this and this and think about how good life really is.

a couple of nights ago i had one of the most insane experiences yet this year. i saw the man of the moment - skrillex - live!

it was tuesday and i had spent the whole day in oslo. first to visit a newspaper and be a journalist for an hour with my class, then just mindlessly walking around with a handful of friends. i had a fever but it didn't matter, i kept it down with pills and occasional cafè stops. as we waited in line for the concert, everyone was pushed forwards by a bunch of ~~idiots~~ eager fans. the vibe was electric, and obviously even more so when we actually got in. we found a great spot to stand almost in the front, but the same boys who had pushed earlier only continued. it went so far that some people lost consciousness and i almost couldn't breathe. when they eventually stopped, everything fell silent except for the bob marley music the warm up dj's had left on.

then he entered the stage. the following two hours there was constant dancing and it was perfect. among four thousand screaming, dancing teenagers i felt truly alive. moments like that make me love being young.

the sun sets so early these days it's almost depressing. by the time i'm about to go out and take pictures it's already too dark. it went to a point where i actually used george (who happens to be my guinea pig) as model. but just so you know i'm completely fine, i'm just a little short on things to show.

i've been out buying early christmas presents and a few things for myself today, and a friend is coming over tomorrow so hopefully there will be some pictures taken then. sorry for another worthless post, but i will make up for it. so long and take care.

one of my favourite (and kind of creepy) hobbies is taking pictures of strangers while travelling. i bet you've noticed. i don't know why it is, but my guess is that it's because i don't know them. they could carry any secret in the world and i wouldn't know. the best part is that even though i almost never ask permission, i always get away with it. in most cases they don't even catch me while snapping, but if they do, i just smile big and hope for the best.

a late night cinema trip, streetlights and the smell of coldness. it's been a month since my birthday tomorrow, the one we celebrated in a crowded hotel room in krakow. friends with tired faces congratulated me early in the morning, and by night time we were huddled together in one huge bed with chocolate and stories from the day. tonight we went out and did it all a little differently.

happy halloween everyone! my weekend was partly spent in the city with friends and partly at a halloween party. we were left an invitation and the next night we had to follow the leads to where the party was. among the places we had to go through was a basement that looked like it belonged in one of the saw-movies. great fun, and it was all so well set up. now to scare myself a little more by watching some old horror movie.

this is me today. a leather jacket worn with a furry vest is a new favourite combination of mine. and what i did today? i (and probably a lot of others) stayed home and worked to make money for youth in need. for me, that meant cleaning my closet, making brownies and watching true blood. at least i got the money.

lately, my life has been a mixture of friends and boys, planning shoots, complaining about the cold, school, little sleep, listening to kings of leon (which i always do in autumn, for some reason) and figuring out which halloween party to go to. i hope i can go through with a shoot i have in mind soon, otherwise i'll probably go insane or something.

i'm back and all is good. as you know i spent the weekend in germany, but i left out one detail - i went there by ship. it was huge and spacious and i spent friday night exploring it, after eating way too much tapas at an all you can eat-buffèt. we arrived in germany the following morning and the weater was nice, so after stopping by new yorker (i grab every opportuniy to spend money there) we dined at an outdoors cafè. it was warm and i forgot for a second that it was october. a few hours later we were headed back to oslo, so the last night on the ship i watched as we passed under a bridge at sunset, snapped pictures and stayed up late.

i am laying in my bed watching donnie darko. i haven't felt too well all day and now it's dark and chilly outside. the most exciting thing that happened to me today was when a bird flew in my window. i was all consumed in my own thoughts when it landed in front of me. i had to chase it out, obviously. but things are actually happening soon - in two days i'll visit my family, have a (late) birthday party and then go to germany for the weekend. can't wait to get away again for a short while!

i've had a great time so far this weekend. it's been calm, but i think i needed it. yesterday i had a shoot in the stinging cold fall weather, but unfortunately i can't show you the pictures as they were for someone. later on i met marie and silje and we went to the premiere of the three musketeers. the movie was brilliant (as was logan lerman, obviously). then, while sitting in a cafè, some drunk boys came over and started waving and dancing for us. that's about when we decided to take the first bus home.

me, wandering around krakow wearing my huge sweater from new yorker (we practically lived in that store) and litas. slightly in love with both. since i got back i've pretty much just caught up on sleep and with friends. loads of exciting things in the happening too, including belated birthday parties, an interview and another trip - and i actually like having almost no time to think.

berlin and krakow photo diary

sometimes so much happens at once that you don't get a chance to take it all in. i have just spent eight days travelling between sweden, germany and poland with a bunch of great people. i've seen and experienced more than you'd think was possible over such a short amount of time, which makes it seem like i've been away for much longer. the journey was as amazing as it could be and we created memories i'll never ever forget.

the first day we drove for hours through sweden before arriving at the shore, where the boat was waiting for us. we explored it and found out it was named peter pan, so people joked about that it was going to take us to neverland. unfortunately it didn't, but the following morning we were welcomed with sun and unusal warmth in germany. that day we also visited two concentration camps. it was tough and unreal and the heat didn't make it any easier. it felt extremely good to finally be at the hotel in berlin later that night. the food was terrible though, so we all ran down to the closest mcdonalds.

when we woke up the next morning in our hotel room with a backyard, we went straight to berlin. the city was so full of life and there was so much beauty. we rode a boat on the canal, had lunch and later managed to get lost. it was the scariest thing but all ended well.

the next thing i knew we packed our bags and drove to poland. i was deadly tired that night, but still as happy as ever. then, on wednesday, i turned fifteen. it was a mixture of things that were bad and things that were good. my lovely friends bought me candy and we saw auschwitz with our own eyes. it was an emotional day, so i'm glad we were allowed to go shopping later that day. also, the taxis in poland drive extremely fast.

our last day of complete freedom before leaving for the roadtrip home, we explored the streets of krakow. it was a great vibe and everything was good. we had lunch at hard rock cafè and later on that night we rode tiny el-cars (funniest thing ever!) to a polish concert and got lost on a movie set. one of those nights you never want to end.

it's been two days since i got back and i already miss it. without a doubt - memories for life.

the ever so inspiring erin wasson

this time tomorrow i'll be somewhere between sweden and germany, on a boat with my class - also known as some of the best people i know. we're to leave extremely early in the morning, and for a whole week we'll drive through europe, visit berlin and krakow and stay at hotels. my birthday is even on wednesday, so i have a feeling it'll be kind of special this year. i actually can't wait. i promise i will shoot every capturing worthy thing i see on our way.

inbetween all that has to be done (which is a lot), i've bought a disgusting amount of new clothes (and grey converse! my white ones have been with me wherever i've gone for two years, so it's safe to say they're well-used), eaten brownies with i and m on a wednesday night, read elle and slept. oh, and we had school photography today. we dressed up as a mafia family. enough said. anyways, somehow i've also managed to take a few snapshots this week, so enjoy!

last night. my closest friends/partners in crime and i have this sort of ritual on mondays. we go out, do something on the limit of crazy (which, yesterday, was walking around in the rain for way too long in way too little clothes. very clever), buy something unhealthy and have fun, to brace ourselves for the rest of the week.

and what i'm up to right now? trying to get rid of my sneaking cold by drinking tea and listening to this. appropriate. more exciting things lined up tomorrow, promise.

my weekend was great. breakfast at big bite with marie, spent some time in the record store, bought necessary and not that very necessary things, had a shoot and just relaxed. a great way to reload energy before another crazy busy week that is coming up (last week mostly consisted of dinner parties, meeting my best friend's new boyfriend and hanging out - this week it'll be school, school and a treat at the end of the week). but things are good, they really are.

9/11. it's been ten years since the terrible attacks in new york city, and i still remember exactly where i was at the time. how horrified i was when i, who was five at the time, saw the second plane crash on live tv. my thoughts go out to the people who were lost and their loved ones who were left behind.

for all that it matters, it's been a good weekend. can't say i'm looking forward to the upcoming week though, loads of things to do. and a shoot - which is a big plus! now back to doing nothing and listening to this.

i'm deeply sorry for my silence lately, but to tell you the truth i've really needed it. my life has in some ways been a mess, days have seemed so short, there are choices to make and there is so much i am to do. i feel guilty for not taking enough pictures, and i hate letting people down, but i will make up to it. i've just needed some time on my own, and i am soon ready to return with buckets of inspiration. nothing will ever break me.

the past weeks that have flown by i have spent with people i care about. we have danced in the darkness, ignoring the thunderstorms outside. i have gone from being happy to frustrated and back again, and i have even given private photo lessons and met an old friend. i have to face that summer has ended, but i'm sure the coming fall will be exciting as well.

life as a teenager is one of the weirdest things, and one of the things that influences my photography the most. you can act so tough, but at the same time be so incredibly fragile. boy trouble, drama, sleepless nights, everything that comes with it. i'm sorry for not posting a lot, but i always have my reasons. and you should know that i always appreciate it when people tell me they love my pictures or my blog. every one of you are beautiful.

during the week that went by, i visited my dear brother, where we celebrated my niece's baptism. it was good to see the side of my family that i see so rarely. i almost feel like an outsider, because i don't always have the time to be with them as much as i'd like to. oh, and the cakes were delicious, of course.

life is back to normal, and so far i've survived just fine. it's hard to wake up early, and i hate not having as much free time on my hands, but i try to stay positive. and it works. i think it's a mixture of the nice weather and that i will visit four (!) cities in europe this fall. travelling makes me happy, in case you hadn't noticed. i could live through anything if there's something bright waiting for me in the future.

another day in the city. we went there by boat, so i sat constantly clutching my camera like it was something living. which it kind of is, to me. it was really fun, though. the day was a whirlwind of egyptian and indian markets (i couldn't resist and bought two bracelets), small concerts, laughs and delicious pizza. because of the foreign people and the heat it felt like being in a completely different country.

the last week of my summer vacation i have practically lived with my friends. daytime trips to the city, unplanned evenings that turned out to be amazing, and sleepovers. last night in particular was perfect. to do justice to a great summer, we decided to have a girls night/end of summer party. we had way too much good food, went for a late night swim, laughed a lot and barely slept at all. then we finished it with lunch in the city today. i'm basically still full, and very very tired.

is it really over - is it school tomorrow? even though i've had one of the greatest summers, i'm not anywhere near ready.

what it looked like when my best friend, marie, and her band, played at a festival yesterday. it was as great as it could be, and they absolutely smashed it. i love how much passion they put into their music. after they had performed, we stuck around, had some pizza, watched the boys take a swim, laughed and had a great time. the weather was perfect which made it all even better. by the end of the day, after seeing another couple of bands, we sat on some rocks by the sea and watched the sun go down.

this was my weekend (not that we noticed it was weekend, at least i have been losing count of which day it is all summer). a train ride to the city, spending some money, coming home only to run off out again. i haven't laughed as much as i did when we, not thinking clear, decided to take silly pictures outside at night. its result was a collection of photos that will never be seen by the public. and, of course, we almost didn't sleep at all that night.

today i'm not feeling too well, so i'll continue listening to angus & julia stone and watch films.

for the next couple of hours i'll be in a car, on a slightly brief roadtrip. i'm off to visit my dear friend madelen, who i haven't seen in a while, for the weekend. we always have a lot of fun and i always come back exhausted and broke. in a good way, i swear. i doubt this time will be any different.

i have been home for a few days, and i already miss traveling all over. not only do i miss everything that spain has to offer, i even miss sleeping at airports (is that normal? then again, i'm not quite normal). making eye contact with strangers, meeting new people. i wouldn't mind living like that for a while longer.

still, i'm enjoying the late summer days outside, having no worries. i recently booked a festival ticket where my best friend marie is going to rock out with her band and her drums. i suspect it will be awesome. also, i'm off to see a friend i haven't seen in a long time in a couple of days. in other words - things are good!

the past whirlwind of a week has been one of the best in my life. we booked tickets very last minute which led us to spending most of last saturday night in the air. we landed in switzerland and austria before spending the night at the airport in gevene by the border of france. i was dead tired but couldn't sleep. somehow i was in a state where i was too excited to even close my eyes. there were photoboots and sleepy french passengers scattered on the floor and benches around the airport. i sat under a blanket and read 'extremely loud and incredibly close' until our flight to malaga, spain at five that morning.

when we flew in over spain i hadn't slept for many hours and i felt sick, but feeling the heat hit me in the face when we left the plane made me ignore it.

the week we had there was warm, calming and perfect. i spent my days either in the water or in the city. eating tapas, strolling about the train station where there were too many shops to count. we had dinner on the beach while the sun set. at night i would lay in bed watching jackass dubbed to spanish, laughing quietly not to wake my mum. the place where we stayed smelled so good and i didn't want to leave.

on our way home we landed in germany. first munich, where we met a man who told us about all the travels he had made. he had just been to south africa and was headed home for the first time in months. i couldn't get his words ''travelling is the best way of learning about life'' out of my head. flying over frankfurt at night was the most lightfilled thing i've ever seen and after yet another sleepless night at the airport, we are now back home.

i am leaving for spain tomorrow night.

i can't believe i'm writing this, that the words actually are true. never in my wildest dreams could i think that something like this would happen right now. i have missed the streets of spain and the nice, summery heat so much this summer, because we always go to spain in the summer, that's what we've always done. this year, though, it didn't look like it would happen, until we stumbled over some cheap tickets yesterday. on our way there we'll be stopping by switzerland and germany, so this will be a small adventure of some kind.

to get away and enjoy life in a country i love so dearly will be fucking amazing. i promise i'll snap photos like crazy and bring back buckets of them. so long and take care! and, of course, my love and thoughts are with the victims in oslo today and the loss their loved ones are left with.

i have been outside all day, enjoying the sun. it's been some time since i could say that.

and suddenly, most of my friends are off elsewhere, and i'm left with an urge to have a shoot. how convenient. rain and heavy clouds have kept me indoors far too much for my liking, but i have survived. stay positive and make the best out of what you've got. a spontaneous roadtrip, trips to the cinema, a barbeque party turned tacos party and movie nights are some of the things i've been up to of late. although, as cozy as it can be, i can't wait to go somewhere again. the thing is, i have no idea where we're going yet.

spain, last year

while the rain is pouring down and i wish with all my heart that i could be somewhere else, i look back on the days i spent in spain last year, feeling completely free. i miss our apartment, the atmosphere and i miss the people. if i could live for a while in a different country, except england, i'd without a doubt choose spain.

now back to cheering myself up by watching my favourite movies - the butterfly effect and mr.nobody.

how is everyone? good? i wish i could report that i'm on an exciting adventure, but sadly that's not the case (for another couple of weeks, when i'm off again). still, my ever-so-amazing friends and i keep things as fun as we can. watching the sun go down while talking about the big things in life. laughing hysterically a moment later. i feel happy and content and empty, all at the same time. it's curious how easily one special person can affect you, how they can make you feel. sometimes they make you feel a kind of joy that is almost unnatural, other times they make you worry so much that you can't fall asleep. that's life as a teenager for you.

i also watched the final harry potter film last night (i still can't grasp the fact that it's over, the story that have been such a huge part of my childhood). it might have affected me slightly, too.

i think some sort of travel depression hit me as soon as i got home. or well, to be honest, it feels like i left home when i left london. i haven't done much at all since i got back. i've had the apartment to myself, and i've watched movies and flicked through spanish vogue (which is making me miss spain as well). i shouldn't be allowed to stay in one place for too long, i'm almost thinking about running away.

some experiences are hard to put into words. this one is one of them. there are so many moments i wish i could describe to you, so many stories i'd like to tell you (if you know me, you will hear) - so i'll try my best. i am already longing back, and would much rather walk the streets of london at this very moment. but i had the time of my life, and london was good to me, as always.

day 1

the first day was quite rough because we had slept so little. we walked around like zombies, explored a little and ate pizza at a restaurant where movie posters covered the walls. when we got to our hotel room, we had to rest before being able to do anything else. later that night, we went to piccadilly circus to eat and also spent a few hours in the record shop. i went crazy and even bought a lp record.

day 2

our second day there was my favourite. after shopping in oxford st. all morning, we dressed up and literally had one of the best days of our life. we went to the premiere of harry potter and the deathly hallows part ii. even though we had to wait around for hours, it was without a doubt worth it. seeing emma watson, daniel radcliffe, tom felton - people i feel i've grown up with - and j.k rowling herself, with my own eyes - it was incredible. the vibe was overall good, people were excited and the crowd went wild each time one of the stars appeared. it felt too good to be true, and we were basically smiling the rest of the night.

day 3

nearly no pictures were taken on friday, because we were too busy shopping. and eating on starbucks. and having so much fun that i can barely remember all the things we did. late that night, we ate incredibly expensive ice cream at an italian cafè and watched a movie in bed.

day 4

on saturday we decided to go to madame tussauds, just because we could. i had been there twice, and it was very crowded and warm, but we still managed to have fun. in the evening we hailed a taxi, went to see big ben (again. and we bought strawberries and marshmallows dipped in chocolate), and then walked all the way back to the hotel. unbelieveable that we actually found our way back. we stayed up all night, watching movies and eating candy because we didn't want the last day to come.

day 5

yesterday we planned on taking the london eye, but when we got there it was broken, so we ended up walking around instead. we had the best pancakes i've ever tasted on starbucks, before we had to leave to the airport. the hours passed as we did some peoplewatching and explored the hallways. neither of us wanted to go home, and even though i haven't laughed as much as i did on the plane in a long time, i felt like crying when we landed in norway.

it still feels like i haven't said anything, but i'll have to end it here. it was one of the best trips of my life, and we created memories that we'll forever keep.

my days on the countryside have so far been big, fat lazy days. whenever it's been sunny, i've been lying on the grass, looking at the clouds and listening to music. whenever it's been raining, i've been catching up on series i've missed out on. some nights we've even brought food and gone to the airport to spend a few hours by the fence, simply sitting there, talking and imagining where the planes are headed. it's something we always do in the summer and it makes me feel content.

i am going back home soon, and soon after that i'm off again. i hope you're all doing good and are out enjoying your holidays, wherever you are.

i am at my father's house, where i do nothing all day, along with my cousin. to come here in the summertime, or any time at all, is like taking a break from reality (not that there's any reality to escape from right now). i remember coming here in the summer as a child. i could spend weeks here, running in fields, exploring the woods, falling asleep in a tent by a lake. and there's items from all over the world here. pictures from my first travels when i was so young that i can barely remember it. even though my mother is very much like that too, it's still my father i've gotten my travel lust from.

but for now, i plan on watching the amazing film biutiful.

life is so simple in the summer. you completely lose track of the days, the time, everything on the outside slowly becomes less important. you learn to live in a bubble, and you only do what makes you happy.

this week i have been to a gig, where after i ran around in a mall at night time until my feet hurt (i always wear heels at the wrong time). i've also eaten ice cream and slept in late. the only thing that bothers me is the fact that i don't leave for london for another two weeks. i am an extremely restless person and i'd much rather travel all summer long. i need some warmth, this rain is killing me. so long, stay positive and listen to this.

i have been missing being able to use my camera lately, and i've moved into my new sweater - which i bought after a concert in town with marie and the boys. summer holidays is coming closer, it's only one day left, and i feel like screaming with joy when i think about it. for some reason it feels weird leaving for holiday this year, though, considering we'll be the oldest when we go back. which means more responsibility and seriousness. but, somehow, these feelings are drowned in the pure bliss and the wonderful memories i'm sure this summer will bring.

we were supposed to go to oslo for some free concerts last night, but somehow the messed up train system and the neverending rain stopped us. instead we had an extremely fun night in håkon's fancy garage with loud music and snacks. we also watched the concerts on tv, and that way we even remained dry.

part one of a very fun shoot i had with marie a couple of days ago. we spent hours in the woods, trying out light and blasting out the pretty reckless. considering the high heels which made her almost fall over repeatedly, heavy make up and hard looks, it was very suiting. we fell asleep late that night, after laughing hysterically and watching one of the best films that exists.

the rest (and also the best) of the pictures are unreachable until tomorrow, because something has happened to my battery charger (i'm always lucky). until then, all i can do is let you know that i'm fine. because today we went to a beach and had a barbeque instead of school, and we'll repeat it tomorrow. summer truly is here.
